Reflection: Repetition with Emphasis

By completing Project 2, I learned how repeated elements in a photograph, such as the lines and columns repeated in my photograph of the Parthenon in Athens, Greece can create emphasis. Another thing that I improved on is the angle of my photography which is evident in the picture below. Two things that are successful in my photograph are the sharpness and emphasis on texture. The beautiful natural sunlight on this day allowed me to capture all the details needed to portray how breathtaking this structure was in real life. However, no matter how hard I try, the camera will never do this justice. Additionally, the clouds in the background contributed to the photo as they also provided some texture to enhance the photo. The sun rays peeking through the clouds shine on the structure and light it up. One thing that I would change if I photograph this again, would be to take it at a little bit of a higher angle so that I get the full structure in the photo. However , I am am very happy with the overall with most if not all the components of this picture.
